Hi all,
I just started using my 14" iBook today. gotta say, I'm already impressed. Connecting to the internet was super easy as was connecting to my printer. seems as if it was just automatic.
one thing that i've noticed in my research of laptops is that Mac (OS X, maybe?) is that it's geared towards the end user. unlike the windows environment that seems like some software was built because they can build it.
anyhow. I'm sure that I'm about to embark on a new adventure with this thing. I'm excited about it. That and the iPod is pretty cool too.
So here's what I bought from Apple:
14" iBook (obviously)
1.2 Ghz G4
768 MB RAM
60G hard disk (I'm not sure of the RPMs, 4200 i think)
Airport Extreme Card
Bluetooth Module
Applecare
20G iPod
Airport Express (is this worth it? i was talking to a buddy who bought net gear for $30(?) and he said it's works better than his Airport Base Station. I'm thinking that may be the way to go, but I kinda like the idea of streaming my music to the home stereo. Playlists are my favorite thing these days when it comes to listening to music. it's nice not having to burn a new cd everytime i want a new playlist. What do you think about either option? How is Apple about returning stuff? Can i return the airport express back to Apple?)

I bought two Airport Express units. One streams my iTunes music through my HDTV system. The other is a bridge and I take it on the road too. You won't go wrong with the Netgear, but the streaming music is cool too.
