airport is working but...

I'm writing this from my pb17. my dsl is plugged into my base station upstairs. my G4-733 is connected to to the AP <-> connection via its ethernet connector.
my internet connection does not work for the G4-733 tower when the base station is placed between it and the dsl box. (dsl to the * on the BS, then from the <-> on the BS to the G4-733).
Am i missing something?
