And let's not forget that even if some punk wrote adware/spyware for the mac, you'd still need to grant permissions to install it. It can't simply install itself in the background in a UNIX OS like it can on Windows.

Exactly. Unless a user creates a ROOT account & Password, which can only be done using NetInfo, then logs in as ROOT, there is no way this is going to happen without them knowing. Even the admin account asks for passwords. And lets face it, if they can figure out how to create and use root, they probably aren't to concerned with Spyware "sneaking" on to their system. Most consumer users don't even know what the root user is!!!

my daughter runs 9 on her G3.. as far as I can tell, it's never been infected with any spyware.. wouldn't happen to have a URL or two for me to look into it tho would you?
