Can the video card of the new imac be upgraded? Are there other options (other than the market standard offered from Apple) that are possible. I'ts all-inclusive design actually seems rather exclusive.

If you wanted upgrades then you should have gotten a tower, not an iMac.

Hi,
Knowing that the video card is soldered onto the board, how possible is it to remove it and upgrade? Your above answer wasn't very helpful with respect to the iMac G5.

Basically, what he was saying is that aside from hard disk and RAM upgrades, it's basically impossible to upgrade. However, since nobody actually got one of their iMac G5s yet, it is unknown if the video is soldered onto the motherboard. It was rumored that it's on a module of some sort, in which case, would open the doors to upgrades (however, it's most likely that video is soldered). Keep in mind that the new iMac specs aren't bad. They are better then most G4 towers in almost every aspect.
