I'm still a ways from filling up a 250 gig HD, but I have plenty of CDs left to stash. If I add another HD, can I get iTunes to read from both HDs? I'm guessing no.

Hi
Not as I know. You'd have to put your entire library on one or the other.

Are you sure about that Cheetah? Can't you scatter the files across drives if you simply turn off the consolidation feature of iTunes (leaving files where they were originally)?

Hi
Now that I think of it...You might be correct. Doh. I seem to be having one of those weeks.
It may work if you leave the preference "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" unchecked. I completely forgot about it and have never done it that way. Thanks Derik!

Yes, but then don't you lose the ability for iTunes to do its job? (organize files)

That's true kid_a. However, you can still manage the files ID3 tags and information. As long as one is comfortable with manual filesystem organization though, it works fine.
