Problems with Powerpoint 2004

I was wondering if anyone else had had problems using Powerpoint 2004 with a digital projector. When I switch to the slideshow view with a projector connected all I get is a black screen. If I disconnect the projector then the slideshow view works fine and with the projector connected the 'normal' view projects just fine.
I eventually 'solved' the problem by reverting to Office X.
