i was "stuff" ing a folder the other week, and clicked the cancel button. it left a broken sit file that i cannot do anything with...says file is in use. so i can't throw it away...i tried trashing it using the chmod method ( or something like that) and it wouldn't work.

does this sound familiar to anyone, and do you know a fix for it?

thanks,
Billy K in Vermont

Thanks Dr-NiKoN. I want to remind everyone to at least check the link at the top of the forum before posting a question. The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is always the place to start. I don't even care if you don't do a search (a quick search would yield probably about 50-100 topics about this already), but please, check the FAQ first.

i did that you ...and if everyone did what you suggested, then no one like you would have anyone to bitch at...

anyways, i figured it out on my own...obviously a bunch of os x newbies here. my computer, since installing 10.2, while booting in os 9 (which i HATE doing) says it can't recognize the partition that jag is on...no biggy...i popped in the os 9 install cd and trashed the *ing file that had been on my desktop for weeks, with no where to go, until i decided to STOP listening to all the creeps here...

bite me would you!?

Right. As if we are the ones having problems doing something as trivial as trashing a file. images/icons/smile.gif

"bite me would you!?"

Naa, I'll just ignore you.
