What are your impressions?? What's the good news in this release? What's missing, from your POV?

I only have one question.
As discussed earlier ( http://www.macworld....t&Number=246163 ), some of us NEED the equivalent of the Windows QuickBooks Pro Timer. This handy little appication allows you to record/log time spent on clients/projects and then import it into QuickBooks.
Does this verison of QB 2005 for Mac OS X have a timer?

From reading the posted product information, I don't see any indication of a timer feature in the 2005 release. I've copied your comment into a thread called "QuickBooks timer?" for further discussion on this topic.

Well, as usual, the missing piece is integrated payroll, the way it was implemented many years ago!
I have said this, here and directly to Intuit, and I will not buy any further versions of QB until they put that functionality back where it belongs. The "software" from Aatrix is a joke, and I cannot for the life of me see how Intuit can honestly market QB as a complete small business solution without integrated payroll. Don't they know that small businesses have employees???
The most frustrating thing about all of this is that the underlying code for generating paychecks as well as liability checks is still there (yes, in versions 5, 6, etc.). It is just hidden from you.

Intuit, please pull your head out and integrate Payroll. Your customers have requested it time and time again. Sigh...

After years of requests, our basic needs are ignored again.
Intergrated payroll, multi-user capabilities, online banking, etc.
But, hey, we can "now" share our file with Windows users!
I've been sharing my Mac file with my WIndows accountant for years.
Just backed it up and send it over. And loving the upgrade price! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
It seems Intuit's commitment to the Mac is a joke.
"If Quicken can do it, then QuickBooks should"
We're getting closer though, "Not compatible with OS9" (5 more years?)
Saves me $200.00 for XMAS!!
PS I would appreciate an email or notice if and when my posts are removed.
I understand the link I used for QuickBooks 2005 was changed, but, my post contained my opinions about this new and current version.
I do believe this is what this forum is about.

I just found this forum today. Nice to see it here.
WHY no intgrated payroll in the Mac version????
This is the 3rd year my company has evaluated your Quickbooks and the 3rd year we are rejecting it. Primarily because of the clunky Payroll. Small businesses ( I have 7 employees) want a simple integrated product, not third party pasted together solutions. I checked with Atrix tech yesterday and he said there was no changes to there payroll module for 2005. Our testing last year revealed this to be cumbersome and unuseable ( and relatively expensive for tax tables)
I thought, based on conversations with Intuit last year, that this was a priority.
I am really disappointed the 2005 version neglects this obvious and essential functionality.
Sorry, not getting my business again this year. .

dspone, it was an error on my part to not repost your original thread; I've pasted it below. it was and is not my intention to suppress participants' opinions.
[pasted by Mac Henry, originally posted by dspone on 10/23/04]:
I was cruising the internet and found this little tidbit. http://accountant.intuit.com/products[u]services/quickbookspro_mac/new.aspx
Still not included, integrated payroll, multi-user capabilties, online banking, etc.
It's amazing that after years of requests, the basic ones are still ignored.
Just tell us you're not going to make it a full version. Sure would save us a lot of trouble.
The way I see it, "If Quicken can do it, why not QuickBooks?"
Hey, we're getting close though, "not compatible with OS9!!" (5 more years maybe?)
And, loving the upgrade price!
Oh well, this saves me a year of coming to this forum!
