Extensis Inc. on Monday announced the release of Portfolio 7.0.4, a maintenance update to its Digital Asset Management (DAM) software for Mac OS X and Windows. Updates include improved Structured Query Language (SQL) modules to connect to Microsoft SQL, Microsoft MSDE, MySQL and Oracle databases; file format support for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, and updated filters for raw image file formats from a number of different digital camera makers. Also included in this version is support for Adobe Digital Negative (DNG) format. Portfolio 7 starts at US$199.95; updates from version 7.x are free. more

Does the SQL Connect" addition to this allow a user to move all data, records, etc. into a SQL database for easy programmatic access?
Or, does it just allow the user to connect data from SQL tables to Extensis' internal database?
If (as I suspect) I am showing my ignorance about this product with the question, please enlighten me.
Thanks!
