Hi,
I want to move all of my music to a new HD but I don't want to have to replace all 350 of my playlists in iTunes by hand after doing so. I don't keep my music in the "iTunes music folder" my digital music library was started before iTunes exsisted. How can i move my music and still have iTunes be able to locate it on the new HD?

I think you should consolidate the library, so it will all be in the iTunes folder.
Move the library to the new hard drive. Open up iTunes, have it look for new library and all should be well. Go to the Apple support site and do a search for itunes Library. You will find all the info you need in the kb's

On the mac (and probably on Windows) there is a preference setting for "keep my iTunes music folder organized". This will put all files in your library into the folder you designate. Also, when you install iTunes (or upgrade) it asks you if you want to search for music (mp3s, etc) and add them to your library. Just hit "Yes". As for the playlists, after you have "organized" your music folder, the playlists can be exported to XML (text file) and then reimported after you install the new HD. I think it looks for the path to the file. but I could be wrong. I was wrong once. once.
