iPod skipping songs

I notice that my 4G 40 gig 'Pod will skip songs that I want to play. This happens when I navigate to a new song on any playlist. For example, I will be listening to Song A, then I click forward past Songs B, C, and D to get to Song E. The song title will show up for Song E, but then it seems to pause (like it's thinking?) then go on to play Song F or G for that matter. Any ideas what may be happening?

Mine does the same thing, especially when I have been listening to one playlist, and then decide to play another play list and it will skip the first song. It has done this for a year. What a pain.

Yeah, I have the same experience. And sometimes, it will skip three or four songs before it starts playing songs from the new playlist. I wonder if it's having trouble accessing the hard drive?
