Here is a quick question that has probably been asked before, but I could not find any topics related to it. I am running OSX 10.3. I have Norton Antivirus 9.02. My question is, will Norton protect me from viruses while I am using Virtual PC? I have version 6.01. I can get McAfee free from my school. I was wondering if I should do this, or if it would create problems with both Norton and McAfee running at the same time. Does anybody know the answer to this? Thanks.

1. Please do not double-post (post the same question in two different MacWorld.com forums). You double-posted here and in the MacWorld Business Software forum.
2. I've found fast, responsive answers to my NAV 9.0.2 questions and noticed others get the same treatment from Mike Romo, who represents the company in the Symantec-sponsored forum at MacFixIt.com
3. I do not use VPC but have a hunch that because NAV 9.0.2 includes weekly definitions for Windows in my OS 10.3.6 NAV 9.0.2 weekly defintiions downloads that it might help. My University subscribed to McAfee while I was there but I opted to pay for NAV because I like the LiveUpdate feature that allows me to automate the weekly download of definitions.
4. If you still can, you might wish to close out one of your posts.
5. Either way, please let us know in this thread what you find out.
Respectfully, Norm

No, it won't. NAV sees the VPC disk image as just a flat file.
While in the WIN environment, you need a WIN anti-viral proggy to protect you.
I suggest AVG Home edition. It's free, updated almost daily, and will not impede your VPC operation.
The smart man installs AdAware and Spybot-Search&Destroy on his VPC system, also.
Still free. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
