I just d'loaded bought some music in iTunes (from Apple) and tried to transfer it into my iPod mini. Done this lots of times. It won't transfer. When I drag the song from the iTunes Library to the iPod icon nothing happens. I'm using iTunes 4.7 and my iPod software is 1.2. Just checked with the iPod updater and it says it's up to date. Plenty of room left on the iPod.
I just recently completely erased my Mac hard drive and reinstalled everything. What might I have done to cause this?

Why aren't you syncing the ipod with iTunes automatically?

I haven't ever done that because I keep slightly different things on my computer and my iPod so I've always just put stuff on my iPod individually. Always worked fine up 'til now.

Well, I figured it out finally. Because I just reinstalled all the software on my Mac, iTunes wasn't "authorized" to play the music and therefore couldn't copy it to my iPod. It didn't tell me that, though, until I double clicked on a song to play it on the computer. Then it asked for my password and now it will copy the music to my iPod again.
