Yes, wireless routers support Powerbooks. I've heard only good things about Linksys routers working in mutliplatform environments.

Linksys doesn't officially support for the Mac, but don't let that stop you...Linksys is one of the most popular, even among Mac users, setup is straightforward through the browser. It's just that you won't get much help from Linksys if you need to call them about the Mac side. People here will help you, though.

You should have no problems with most any name brand wireless router - dLink, LinkSys, Buffalo Tech., Belkin, and so forth.
I have set up dLink systems for folks using Win machines and OS X machines and never had a problem. I use a Belkin at home in a mixed OS X / WinXP environment, again with no problems. And one of my neighbors has a Buffalo Tech. Airstation with both Win2000 and OS X clients connecting to it (I think BT even "officially" support OS X and Linux).
In other words - no problems. I just picked Belkin 'cause it was cheap (especially for an 802.11g 4-port wireless router) and supports WPA, even though I've been too lazy to switch my home network from WEP to WPA yet (the dang Windows PC card needs a firmware flash and such).

Yes, most any of them will work with Macs. I've used Netgear and Linksys without any problems. My PB works at every hotspot I've tried it at too.

I use linksys both at work and at home. In both places, we also got Linksys's wireless booster, and it does extend the area of coverage significantly!
