Hi, I was interested in recording my class lectures while I take notes with my Powerbook, using an external mic. I searched for a program on Google but couldn't really find anything. All I want is something that will record the sound to a .wav file or something. Is there any such program?

When you need a Mac program, don't look in Google, look in macupdate.com or versiontracker.com. (Entered search terms "record audio") There's some free ones in there...

Audacity and SoundStudio are two that come to mind.

Cool, thanks! I'll definitely make sure to go to those two sites first in the future

Word in Office 2004 will also let you record as you're looking to do w/ the advantage of being able to simultaneously take notes that will be linked with the audio file. Nothing you couldn't do otherwise, but it's a kind of neat feature on a software app you might already have.
