Solid Tone At Startup

I have a G4 400 10.2.8
Recently installed a 512 ram and a firewire PCI card.
When I startup I get a solid tone instead of the normal startup chimes.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a memory problem - try reseating the dimms and if that doesn' t do it - remove the new ones and see if things return to normal.
