Does anyone know if there is a way to access a remote Macintosh on a network that is behind a firewall? Using Appleshare and the designated IP number for the Mac in question eventually times out. Is there a workaround available?

In most cases you will need to have the administrator for the firewall allow access to the Mac behind the firewall. What you are trying to do is what the firewall is designed to stop. (Even though you might be permitted access to the Mac in question.)

Socks.
Comes with Anarchie.
There's a new version if you search for the guy's name.
Sorry I don't have direct info, my isp got rid of its firewall, so I don't need it anymore.
I had 8.6 and 7.6.1 and used it on both.
