Having solved why my Mac wasn't reading the disc, I've just spent about four hours burning my first DVD. It reached phase four and, after a matter of minutes spat out the disc with the message about an 'internal target failure, something about hardware errors and (0x44, 0x00). And I can't read anything on the disc. Aaaaargh! four hours! Now what? Help!!! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

First, I suggest you go to
http://homepage.mac....geerlingguy/mac[/u]support/machelp/pages/15-burnidvd_other.html
and download the tiny 'egg' which would allow you to 'burn' an image rather than a disc. This will let you figure out if you have a hardware (burner) issue vs something else. Many here and elsewhere will vouch for the usefulness of this egg/patch.
