Connecting to XP Machine

When I choose network from the sidebar in a finder window and choose the XP Machine andthen I enter my Username and passowrd for the machine I get the error:
The Alias "your-xu5v9frokn" could not be opend because the original item could not be found.
The XP Machine can connect to the Mac with ease
iMac is running OS X 10.3.7
XP machine has XP Home SP2
