Situation: I'm using 2001Basic (for Windows, but this is the only decent Quicken forum I can find!!) I have 3 investments accounts (IRA, Roth, voluntary). In the voluntary account I originally held positions in two mutual funds. In October I closed my position in one fund and converted all shares into shares of the other fund. How do I record this in Quicken?
Note: I'm not transferring between accounts, which is the only "share conversion/transfer" operation I see.
I hope somebody can help me, even though my version is different from yours.
Thx

Converting mutual fund shares...

Since these are all retirement accounts (and you haven't received the cash for the account you closed), then do a simple SELL and BUY. Sell the old account and place the cash in any cash account you have. Then use that same amount of cash to purchase the other fund. Hopefully, you have done a direct transfer, if you have directly received the funds or the amounts are different you have a totally different issue (problem) best solved by an accountant.
