I am now justing a Powerbook. I used to always use my Windows desktop. I have many files, mainly documents on my desktop that I want on my Mac. How can I transfer them to my powerbook?
Also I have a ton of saved Favorites on IE on my desktop, is there anyway to trasfer those my to my Powerbook?
Just curious cause I dont want to hand type them all in.
Thanks.

Many files are system agnostic, such as .pdf, .jpg, and others. It doesn't matter what kind of computer they're on, if they have that extension they'll be read okay. Others need an appproriate application, such as Office for .doc, .xls, or .pps files. Once again, assuming you have a version of Office Mac installed, it will open any Office PC files you have (Access files excluded; there is no Mac counterpart unless FMP will open them).
I think you'll probably have to start over with your IE Favorites. I also think you should get IE out of your mind and go with one (or more) of the many alternatives available, such as Safari which comes with your new Mac, or Firefox/Mozilla, and others.

I THINK IE for Mac will read IE favorites.
If you pick up Microsoft Office for Mac, all the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc documents will work. If you don't, TextEdit can open WordPad documents and you can download NeoOffice for free (should open most office documents, but it loads as slow as heck and might seem a bit unfamiliar).

For your favourites, I recently moved my favourites from IE OS9 to OSX, and had no problem. For the Windows, you should be able to export the favourites into an HTML file, then take that file to your Mac.
With the Mac, import them into IE, then Safari should recognize them. You may have to drag-drop them, but it's still quicker than going back to the sites.
