My friend has an external hard drive for his pc and wants to bring over some video material. It's a large amount of data and he figures the easiest way is to bring over the hard drive. Is there a program that will transfer files from a pc formatted hd to a mac?

Mac OS X can read and write FAT formatted volumes and read NTFS formatted volumes. You should be all set with the built-in software.

you didn't note what OS you are running..
but OS 8.6 and 9.x do just fine as well.
drag and drop just like it was yours.
