Hi. I've got a 1GHz Ti G4 with a superdrive. Ive had the machine since 9/03. For the last few months i've been having problems with the superdrive finding disks in the drive. When i insert a CD, it sounds like the drive tries to read it, I can hear it start to spin twice, then the drive makes some noise and ejects the CD after about 15-20 seconds. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi
I hate to say this but the Matshita (Panasonic) UJ-815 were terrible drives. I also had a 1GHz Ti with the factory default SuperDrive and it stopped burning CD-Rs the first time. This was about a year and a half from when I purchased it in December '03. Everything else was just perfect but burning CD-Rs, CD-RWs were fine, gave instant burning errors. Got that replaced under AppleCare and the second one [replacement] did the problem you describe. I thought it a fluke since it only did it once or twice but apparently the new owner of my Ti noticed it as well. The Ti is nice but those drives, being a new technology, were quite flaky.
If you are still under warranty, give Apple support a call.
If you aren't under warranty, upgrade to a newer/faster SuperDrive.
MCE Technologies is a great choice!
