Hi
Just bought a Canon Powershot A85. Nice camera, compatible with iphoto etc., but it won't mount on my desktop as a hard drive. Can anything be done?

I've yet to see a Canon Powershot series camera that will do that. They work fine with iPhoto or Image Capture, but they do not mount to the desktop as a removeabel media drive. AFAIK, that's just the way the powershot's are - only thing to do is get a USB CF media reader, and take the card out of the camera to access the images from a desktop mount.

I have an A95 and I was wondering the same thing. It would be nice to be able to mount it a a disk get movies off the camera rather than using the included software.

Well, I have used five powershot models (my own G2, a friend's G5 and 3 others but I cannot remember the model numbers) - it was not possible to mount the CF card, in the camera, as a removeable media device. Unless you want to remove the CF card and use a card reader, you will have to use iPhoto, Image Capture, or the Canon ImageBrowser software.
