Then I tried Fink, and once I figured it out, OMG that was cool too.

While at ArcaneWare I also found something I've been waiting for a while: a font viewer that can view uninstalled fonts. Though I think it's GUI can use a make-over, the app is blank>TypeJet.
I also use DropDMG a lot. It lets you easily make DMG files with license agreements and all.

No longer. Mac OSX users can now fax or email large format documents right from their desktop or laptop using a cool little shareware app called Page Sender by Smile Software.
For instance, composers, orchestrators or music prep houses can send or receive full sized 12" x 18" orchestral scores. You can forward received pages via fax or email right from Page Sender with first-generation quality (pages are stored as PDF files)
You need a large format printer to print a tabloid sized document, but fax image quality is excellent, and if you don't have a large format printer, you can keep or forward the original document at full size and easily print a reduced size copy by changing the Page Setup page size in Acrobat Reader.
Interestingly, the large format capability isn't documented in Page Sender v2, which seems rather odd, given how powerful a feature this is for certain professional users. Hopefully, once more people learn about the program, Smile Software will include documentation.
But even if large format faxing is the last thing on your mind, this is a really cool shareware application: Live Addressing is supported - just drag and drop addresses into the print dialog and "print". You can also attach additional PDF files to the end of a fax when sending. Grayscale is supported, and you can select from any number of custom or preset cover sheets.
Smile sofware's customer service has been absolutely first rate. This is a must have shareware app for any professional who might ever have a use for large format fax capabilities.

Mozilla (no matter how WRONG MacWorld's review of it was!)
WeatherPop
Two, er, Three more...
Also by blank>Glucose, who make WeatherPop, is Impasse -- a much better (and very inexpensive) front-end to the built-in firewall in OS X ... and just today they've released an update compatible with Jaguar.
As articles in MacWorld have described over the last year or so, Cascading Style Sheets is becoming a more and more important technology (especially if you like what Wired.com has done with their site!). A fabulous CSS editor is Style Master by blank>Western Civilization ... who also hosts the css-discuss maillist with Eric Meyer. Style Master not only lets you write CSS, it gives you warnings about browser incompatibility and it's on-line documentation is better than just about any book I've read on CSS. WestCiv also makes Layout Master, a WYSIWYG CSS layout editor that can help you come up with liquid layouts like Wired uses or absolutely positioned CSS layouts. Neither of these are OS X ready yet, but WestCiv develops for the Mac first, and they're working on OS X versions right now (yes, I'm sure, even as I type this ... images/icons/wink.gif ).

- Omniweb 4.1.1
- iGetter 1.8
- Net Monitor 2.9b3
- OmniDiskSweeper
I also use Visage, Max Menus, Macjanitor - but if they didn't exist, then life would still go on, unlike if the others weren't around, I'd be distraught! images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/grin.gif
