no ports in the chooser

Hi was wondering if someone could help me out here, I have an 333mhz imac with an epson 740 printer, running OS 9.2
recently the printer has stopped working, looking in the chooser when I click the printer icon I do not seem to get either printer or modem ports showing up, have tried various utility programs resetting the p-ram, rebuilding desktop all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Try this.
Open the Apple Talk Control Panel. Set Apple Talk to Remote. (It may be set to Modem/Printer Port.)
