Thank you, Mr. President! And thank you to everyone else on the board, too!
I bought my first shares at about 17 (split-adjusted 8.50 and, in a few weeks, 4.25 or so) when Apple stock was rated as an "Avoid". It's funny of what became of the stocks that I chose logically, with the enthusiastic support of the so-called analyst community.
[*]Compaq: went up sharply after I bought it, then collapsed and I got out at breakeven.
[*]Pfizer: Had a good run for a while (particualrly with Viagra), but that couldn't keep the price up indefinitely. Sold it for about 30% more for than it is currently trading for.
[*]Qwest: Trading at a fraction of what I paid. I think they had some accounting fraud, but not as big as...
[*]WorldCom: 'nuff said.
[/list]
I wish there were another product of service that I feel as strongly about as I do about my Mac, I'd like to see whether this "buying with your heart" technique can generally beat "buying with your head" (or more realistically, buying what the "analysts" heads are spewing).

Or 83.xx (now that it's "tomorrow")? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Only amateurs would buy now, sorry. I'd wait until mid August or so (Tiger will have been out awhile, WWDC will have come and gone, etc)...and then hold until the January peak for a modest but quick return. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

So is anyone else going to buy at 81.xx tomorrow morning?
Any ideas at what it will peak at ?
I've been selling off all of my other stock and emptying all savings accounts and buying as many shares as I can. I have it from a reliable source that it's going to peak at $203.47 (and that's after the split).
