I've tried switching to OS X (10.0.4) on my iBook, but it won't let me install my printer (Canon 300s) software.
Also when I tried to install my NortonWorks 3.0, I got the message "This software cannot be installed on this computer."
I'm getting ready to install OS X 10.3. Will this solve the problems???
TIA!

It may solve the problm for the Canon but do not install Norton, bad news.

That version of Norton was written for OS 7 or thereabouts. DO NOT install it on a Mac with OS X on it. Likewise, if you have access to 10.3, DO NOT install 10.0. Although Apple claimed (I nearly wrote "blamed") full functionality, most people still thought of it as barely out of beta, if out at all. If you're interested in learning a little about current utilities for the Mac, go here and click on the second Top 10 item. Warning: It's a bit long (and will be longer probably later today, as I'm writing a revised version a bit later today to add a couple of new things). Although in a different format than the Macworld Forums, this is an official forum FAQ.
