One of the nice features of Safari is that it won't let pop-up ads through, but recently I've started getting pop-unders (?), primarily the ones that advertise screen savers or 300,000 downloadable icons. I don't think I changed any of my settings, and under the Safari menu, "Block Pop-up Windows" is still checked.
Anybody know how they're getting through? Or have pop-unders always been getting through and I've just never noticed it before?

Yeah, there is a new "hole" that was found.
These aren't pop-UPs, they are pop-UNDERs, so until Mozilla and Apple and OmniGroup et al code for it, they will be a nuisance.

Currently I am using PithHelmet and I have seen no pop-unders. I visit sites like macdailynews, etc and never get them and this is the only thing I can think of that may influence the behavior. Good luck

Would be nice if Apple gets this fixed, it's really annoying.
I'm actually judging the quality of the site by this - if it has pop unders or pop ups it's shady business... I can't imagine how would anyone want to advertise their products/services that way. They must sell something now and then. Just not to me, never. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
