I can carry 233 Yes songs, 232 Rick Wakeman songs, 152 Beatles songs, 51 Ben Folds songs, 95 classical compositions, about 1,000 other assorted songs, and STILL have hard drive space left over for my Photoshop paintings and PDF portfolio.
And it looks so damn cool!

i don't personally own an ipod at the moment (my girlfriend does and we live together so it's kind of mine... ) but i'm planning to get one someday somewhat soon. my reasons? first and foremost, i have tried to give other comparible (or so they say) portable players a chance by looking around at my options and they either look like junk or have too many buttons and features i would rather not have taking up space (fm radio?, matched with interfaces that are far below that of the ipod. my second reason is that simply put, i own a mac and have been using itunes for years to store my music collection- and ipod is the absolute best solution in terms of convenience and interface between mac (and some would say PC as well) and music player.

Originally it was because it was one of the only Firewire machines (about 4 years ago - my original still working ipod)... Next because of the click wheel and now the shuffle is so very very cool ... hang it on your rear view mirror in the truck and around your neck... I've seen other players and they are all ugly and have too many options that I wouldn't use. Not to mention ease of use iTunes . . . I always wonder why people post these type of questions on forums ...

Agreed. Someone's pumping people for data for an undisclosed reason.
The rapid-fire questions without a reason why the information is wanted reminds me of the way today's college students do research... they try to get others to do it for them!
If someone really wants to know answers to these questions then they could simply Google it. Otherwise, I won't spend time helping someone who doesn't disclose why they need help.

Look at it this way: you are your own walking radio station and album library. Without having to wait for the radio stations play your favorite music, you are in complete control of your music enjoyment. And, if you want to listen to an audiobook or a Bill Cosby comedy routine, you have it on your iPod--try getting that from a radio station!!!
