I have a powerbook which I now need to use to record client sessions. Can anyone help me figure this out, do I need to purchase a microphone and voice recording software?

I just did something similar. Purchased a Griffin iMic ($35) from the Apple Store and a lavalier clip-on microphone ($30) from Radio Shack. I used Final Vinyl, which comes with the iMic, for recording sessions. I then used Audacity to heavily edit them, & now would probably use Audacity to do the initial recording as well. I saved the finished Audacity edits as AIFF files, which I dragged into iTunes to use with iMovie.
