Hi
I am a new Mac user.
Can you please guide me further wrt GarageBand. I have never used this application and won't be using it in future.
Do I have to just pull this icon into trash , because there might be other files connected to GB which would need to be deleted as well ?
I need to free up space on my 30GB iBook, I checked on GB and it shows as 62 Mb ; how do you delete rest of the files.
Is there any program in apple (like Windows) where one can delete a program and all related files ?
Thanks in advance.
Rishi

While I don't know offhand any program that can remove all of Garageband for you, you could try this until someone else has a better way.
Double click your Macintosh Hard Drive, when that window pops up, there is a little area on the upper right where you can type in Garageband. It will then search for any item with that word in it. I just tried it on my iMac and got 17 items. Take each item as it appears and drag it to the trash. That should restore some of your space.
A little program I like is DeLocalizer which removes unwanted language files from your computer. I have an iBook, too and this has saved quite a bit of space for me.
Of course, manually looking for things you don't use is a good idea, but you need to be careful when getting into anything belonging to the System or Library. What might not seem important to you, can be quite important to your computer. (I learned the hard way.)
If you need more help, keep reading this thread. There are a lot of pretty smart people here who might post after me and you don't want to miss out on their advice.

Dear MacSis and Slim
Thank you for your help !!
I managed to knock out 5 GB of my computer space without knocking out the iBook. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I remember when I first got on the net - I was using Netscape and deleted IE and my entire system went down crashing.
I guess this is the difference between a PC and a Mac /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
