like i said, you will run into permissions issues eventually. when you add a song to the library, although the other users of the computer can (usually) see and listen to that song, the song is set as you being the owner of the file so they can usually not edit the song info for example. after 3 different users have been adding misc. songs to the library, it becomes a real pain to figure out exactly WHO is the one that has to edit the info for that particular song. in my case, i'm the one who does most of the library maintenance and i got frustrated not being able to edit some of the songs. i also ran into problems that would come and go where it will refuse to let one user add songs or import a cd one day and work fine the next, things like that.

does anyone have any experience with the donationware program "ShareAlike"? seems to make the task of sharing iphoto and itunes libraries among users on the same machine really easy, and has a crude way of dealing with the permissions issues that come up (a button to press from time to time to "fix" permissions once they begin becoming a problem, as opposed to keeping them fixed automatically). i'm looking for some personal experiences with this before i try it myself.
