One side of the hinge on my iBook has snapped off - three little pieces broke off on the left side when I opened it. There's a sort of metal bit sticking up, and the end on the right has gone down a bit and is no longer level with the keyboard.
Does this mean I'll need to send it to Apple for repair? It's a G3 iBook, purchased in July 2001.
Maybe if I just keep it open ....?

only if you want it done right.. not saying you can't do it yourself.. but. if it all works except the hinges.. they break it, they fix it.

Me - fix it myself? LOL! No way!
I'm going to call Apple and see about getting it done.
Everything else works fine. It's been a great little computer.
