Here is the deal, I downloaded a version of idvd 5, the only problem was it did not have any themes installed, so I decided to erase it and install my original iDvd 4, Now the computer tells me I cant install it because it is not permitted. I dont want to do a re- install, evenif it is to an external drive.
What else can I do?

Where did you download the iDVD 5 version? It's only available thru the purchase of iLife 05.
To reinstall iDVD 4 from your iLife 04 disks you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iDVD" in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder. The do a custom install of iDVD 4 followed immediately by an update to the latest 4 version and a permissions repair.
