there is an obnoxious humming noise in my G4 cube, which is about 4 years old. What might be the problem there. Also, of course it is extremely slow as well. Any tips on how to increase the performance.

Does the cube have an external power brick? My memory says the PS is internal. A humming could indicate the power supply is dying. This could case lower current to the computer which would slow it down, and start to cause flaky behavior.

Hi,
After the obvious RAM max-out, I would look at this.
