Recommendations for an HTML generator program

I'd like to get a BLOG up and running but know little about writing HTML code. Can anyone make a recommendation? I've downloaded FreewayExpress, but few web providers mention it.
Also, what problems might I have using a Mac? Most of the Blog hosters mention PC operating systems, but nothing related to Macs.

Generally, webpage editors are very poor tools when it comes to much of what is involved in designing a blog. Using them to generate separate CSS files has some utility, but most of the code on a blog is generated dynamically.
Who's hosting you and what blog software you use also matters.
