I just got an iPod Mini from the Apple Store online, on sale that I need to get repaired/replaced. I heard that if you have your reciept and are under warranty and you go to an Apple Store, if there really is a problem w/ your iPod, they will exchange it right there at the store. Is this correct? If it is, I will just go to the store and get it swapped with one that I am sure is new, rather than do it via mail and have to wait, and not be sure if it is new or refurbished. Also, what will they do if the store has 2nd gen iPod Minis, and I need to swap. Will I get a 2nd gen iPod, or will it be a 1st gen., like this one?
Thanks,
Eric

Yes, they will swap the mini on the spot if need be and if they have replacement minis in stock. No, you won't need a receipt. You will get the same gen iPod as the one you have. They don't give you a new iPod (with all the accessories) they gave you an AppleCare Certified replacement unit (just the iPod itself, same model and generation). However, if your iPod has any dents on it, don't get your hopes up on a free swap.
