works fine in safari for me
also to answer the previous question these iamges are at least 2 years old, when you go to south philadelphia, the vet is still standing (imploded march 2004) and Lincoln Financial Field is under construction (opened august 2003)
so they aren't quite "real-time"
cheers! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Around where I live (see previous post) there is a big block of area for a new housing tract. That tract has been completed for years. They do these coverages once every few years. They just happened to get NY at that time of day when the satellite was going over. It can't be too long ago, the WTC is gone and it looks like most of the cleanup is complete. I would guess 2002-03?

In reply to:
This is for Windows only, as are most (all?) of the recent Google additions.
It would be nice if Google recognized Macs, but I do not think it will happen. Use another search engine, when possible.
Actually, it works beautifully. You should try things out before getting all indignant.

This is great! I can see my house too. I believe it was Mapquest that used to offer this service years ago, but they stopped offering it after 9/11 I think. I hope Google can keep it up. By the way, to the guy who says Google isn't Mac compatible, you're wrong in so many ways I can't count them. Google is the best.

How many of you get an accurate map? With my house using the photos, its really obvious that the map loctaion (the dropper?) is pointing to the wrong house--in my case, its off by about 6 houses. Yayhoo gives about the same location, so it must have something to do with where they get their data from. Its good enough to get someone to my street, but they'd be looking at the wrong house

Using my Google Map bookmarklet of course! It's in the Reference section.
Feel free to drag as many of the others to your bookmarks toolbar as you like. Remember, if your query appears in the web page you're viewing, simply highlight it and it'll be used as the search query, bypassing the prompt.
As usual, I'm always open to suggestions. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
BTW, areal photography was one of my two main items on the Google Maps wishlist. My other one is maintaining my location in a cookie (or on Google's servers, and accessing it through an ID stored in a cookie). As Yahoo! does with its maps.
