I need some help, I have just bought an ipod which requires 10.2.8 to be installed. I have downloaded the update and tried to install it. When it comes to selecting the destination disk it says the volume does not meet the requirements for this update you can not install software on this disk. I also tried installing the 10.2.1 update but it came up with the same thing. I don't know why it won't install because there is enough space. Does anyone know why it won't work???? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you're still using OS X 10.0 or 10.1, you cannot use the 10.2.1 (or the 10.2.8) updater to update them. You must first BUY 10.2. EBay would probably be your best source, since 10.4 has just recently been announced for shipment later this month.
Frankly, depending on what model Mac you're using, instead of buying a relic like Jaguar (10.2), I would preorder Tiger (10.4) now. It will handle any iPod so far made.
