i have 2 airport express units, one in WDS remote base station to the other.. the 2nd extends the network of the first; it's in the living room, connected to the stereo. anyone know if i can use the ethernet port on the 2nd airport express to connect my Playstation 2 to the internet so i can play games online? will the ethernet port on the AE work this way?

The ethernet port on an AE configured as a "WDS remote" is active and therefore - most certainly yes - you can cable your PS2 to it for internet access.

A few suggestions:
1. test the ethernet port by cabling your Mac to it (with the Mac's Airport card turned off of course) to see if it can access the internet.
2. use the Airport Admin Utility to confirm the ethernet port is enabled (it can be turned off and on manually, a setting that I think is found via the Base Station options button).
3. manually assign a static IP address to the PS2 - use 10.0.1.x where x>200, subnet 255.255.255.0, router 10.0.1.1, DNS 10.0.1.1
