I'm running OS9.1 and when I try to print, the usual message - spooling..etc comes up and... nothing. No error message either.

The printer will print a test page if I push the button on the printer.

Apple profiler shows printer status and printer type as 'stopped'.

What the heck does that mean? How do I unstop it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is not clear to me whether you did this or not so I'll ask anyway - have you opened the desktop printer icon for this printer and checked the queue status, making sure it is "on".

Print Monitor doesn't show a queue building up.

After posing this question, I seem to have found a way to print - but it's still not right. I've turned off 'background printing'. It will now print, but I obviously can't do it in the 'background' as I could before.

thanks
