I'm thinking of buying a R1800 and have been comparing it with the 2100.
Nobody seems to be able to tell me the difference between the two - one shop I contacted said "you want the 2100 - its a much better printer". Another shop said the opposite.
From the data sheets they use the same Ultrachrome inks, but with different colour inks. The R1800 has a higher resolution, is faster and is sightly cheaper. Is it just a newer model that replaces the 2100, or are there other considerations?
Thanks for some enlightenment.

Epson R2400 has been rolled out:
http://www.epson.com...sp?oid=53540920
It does perform better job than R1800. and it can use K3 ink.
Besides, if you are interested in R1800, R2400, 2200 bulk ink device, here has very good reviews:

basically, you can just buy one unit for R1800, 2200, R2400, R800, C86, R200....etc. It's reusable.
