Hi, I use iChat rendez-vous at my office. All was very siple because with rendez-vous Mac found each other automatically.
The problem is that we have moved to another office and the 2 macs are in the same network but in different subnetworks... so they do ot found each other with rendez-vous. Is it possible to tell t iChat an IP addres to connect?
thanks for your help

That all depends on whether the other Macs have IP addresses that are routable. If the other Macs are on other IP subnets with non-routable IP addresses, the answer is no. Do you happen to know what their IP addresses are?

i do not understand what "routable" IP adresses means..
in fact I can connect to the other computer using "connect to server"... and typing the IP adress, but not using rendez-vous because there are in a different subnetwork..

What is the IP address of the Mac you are trying to access?

There was some discussion over in the OS X forum.
The thread is now closed over there.
