Please help me decide

Hi, I have a 17" PB, the first one but I have some problems with the screen, my insurance is going to buy me a new PB, and I don't know if I should buy the 1.67 Ghz or wait for a G5.
So someone knows how fast is the 1.67 compared with the 1 Ghz? of course it has a 128 MB video card, and a bigger HD, but is this worth the change, or wait?

Two questions:
1. How much time do you have? (as the G5 PB is probably still quite some time off)
2. What are you doing that will require a G5? (I'm using my 12" 1.5 with Final Cut Pro and it performs great)
