Adobe aims at Microsoft

I just watched portions of Bill Gates' WinHEC...
I still don't understand the perspective of 'Adobe aiming at Microsoft.' It seems quite clear to me that the 100-lb gorilla, Microsoft, is aiming squarely at Adobe and Adobe is merely trying to defend itself.
With Microsoft's "Metro," it is clearly aiming to take Adobe out of the picture on the desktop and in printing. It also seems to me to be a clear shot at the Mac, which relies heavily on PDF. If Macs can't read Metro documents and can't print to Metro printers, then once again we're out of the loop.
So, if acquiring Flash will allow them to force-feed PDF capabilities to Longhorn users, I say good for them--it's a great defensive block.
