Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to delete the contents of a block of cells I've selceted in Excel?
I;m coming very recently from Windows and am used to selecting a range of cells and hitting delete to empty them. How do i do this in the Mac version?
I am at a loss. I took me forever to figure out how to move from sheet to sheet, too. The help section is less than helpful on this...

You're running into one of those unintentional (?) roadblocks resulting from a long ago decision by Apple. You probably noticed that what is called the Backspace key on Windows is called Delete on the Mac and it causes much confusion because on Windows, Backspace and Delete mean two entirely different things while the Mac mashes them into one key.
If you want to delete all the contents of all selected cells, you have two choices. If you are using a Mac desktop, try the Delete key in the middle keypad, as Shades said (NOT the one next to the plus sign on the main keyboard). If you are using a PowerBook/iBook, press FnDelete. Fn is the button at the lower left corner of a Mac laptop keyboard. Try FnDelete any time the keyboard Delete isn't doing what you want.
The other way to do it is use the Clear Contents command. It's also on the right-click menu. Don't listen to the Mac extremists...if you like using a multi-button mouse, plug one in. Mac Office makes extensive use of the right mouse button.
