I just bought my first iPod, a 4G 20Gb model.
While it's on its way from Shangai, I have been looking into what case I will get to protect it. So far I kinda like the Speck Skin and the iSkin (evo2?). Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like the Contour Showcase. Rubber edges and clear front and back panels. I'd consider it as a "hard-case" so you'd have to open it up to use the Dock. I have never used my Dock, it's still in the iPod box, I just use the FW cable since the Showcase has an opening at the bottom.

The thing with the rubber cases is that they dont let you dock your iPod, so be wary of that, although they are the BEST for protection when you drop your iPod. Sleeves and stickers are practical but not as protective.

I would say that apart from Speck's ToughSkin -- a rubber case that likely is the best "drop" protection -- you'll get better protection from drops via something like Matias's iPod Armor than you will from most rubber "skins."
