And one point I wanted to add to this: The interesting thing here is that so much of online gaming is casual in nature -- only a fairly small percentage of gamers were interested in the headline-grabbing stuff like World of Warcraft or Everquest.
I guess one could argue that the rise of online poker gaming is also a "casual" gaming trend. I know quite a few people who enjoy playing Texas Hold 'Em online with other gamers. But it takes a different set of skills than, say online pinochle. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
