number one I can't seem to get iPhoto to recognize my Cannon A85 any more. With panther this was never and issue as it always worked.
number 2 I can't seem to figure out why Windows media player will no longer play embedded MMV files in safari.
number 3 Safari has ground down almost to a hault as it surfs the web. I have SBC yahoo DSL and this was never an issue before. I reset all connections. restarted the modem and airport extreme. still with no luck.
any idea's guys?
My fiance is hating our new apple cause of all this crap.
Oh running an iMac G5 with 1.6 processor and 768 in RAM. and 10.4.1 running.
Thanks,

What kind of install did you do?
What 3rd party applications do you have?

Hmmm... an Erase & Install should give you a clean system.
So... my next guess would be one of the 3rd party applications. Have you checked to make sure each is compatible with Tiger?

Hi,
Try this if you haven't: Create a new User Account, and see what gives? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

OK...did a complete erase and reinstall of tiger. There is no third party software on my computer any more. finaly got iPhoto to work with my camera. Still have no idea how to install WMP as a plug in to safari as it seems safari 2.0 is a piece of [censored]. I can not stand this browser. i really liked panther and regret making the switch. Tiger is just not worth it right now. I am seriously considering switching back to panther till they figure this crap out. Oh and apple support sucks too.
problem is now my fiance is pissed cause our fancy new computer is slow as molasses and she can't even access most websites right now due to it just not wanting to work.

how do I uninstall the 10.4.1 update? maybe that might help.

If the Mac is running normally and only exhibiting a slow connection, have you considered that there may be an issue with your internet service (signal, packet loss etc.)? While you may think the issue has to do with the upgrade to Tiger, it may be service related.
Try running a ping test to your gateway and see what your response times in milliseconds is and if you are experiencing any packet loss.

I found 10.4.0 to be nominally faster than 10.3.9, and 10.4.1 is much much faster than 10.4.0.
Safari is working really well for me... much better than previous versions.
So... since others are experiencing similar good performance from Tiger and you've done a clean install I would think the problem lies with your internet connection (as noted above) or some hardware problem.
Hmmm... this is a tough one to figure out.

OK...now it is back to running smoothly again. BUT problem is my airport express eather keeps dropping out or something. I will be surfing the net and then boom...i get an error message stating that I am "not online"....kinda irritating half way through a survey. I am not sure how to rememdy this.
I have reset the base station, rebooted the DSL modem, made sure my firmware is up to date and it is, then if I go into a different user on the same computer the airport will be showing up with full signal strenght and will be able to access the net...just the other name won't be able too.
very confusing.
